What these terms cover
Running The Board is a multi-patient emergency department simulation that residency programs use for teaching. These terms apply whenever you use it: its public pages as well as the application behind sign-in. The Privacy Policy explains what is collected about you and why; agreeing to these terms includes agreeing to it.
Who may use it
Anyone may use the public pages: the front page, the instructional videos (after leaving an email) and the pages a session’s codes open, to rate the session or have its teaching points sent to you.
The application itself is by invitation: once invited, you sign in with your own Google account. Use only your own account, do not share it, and tell your program or the contact below if you think someone else has used it.
For teaching, not for patient care
Every case, patient, vital sign, rhythm and result in Running The Board is invented for teaching. Nothing in the application is medical advice or a clinical reference, and it must not be used to make decisions about real patients.
Never enter real patient information — names, dates, record numbers, images or anything else that could identify a patient — anywhere in the application, including notes, comments, cases and uploads.
Scores and debriefs
Team scores, standings and debriefs exist to make a teaching session work. Unless your program tells you otherwise in advance, they are not an assessment of you as a trainee.
Other people’s information
Rosters and team lists show you information about other members so that sessions can run. Use it only for that. Do not copy, export or share other members’ contact details or profiles outside the program, and do not use them for marketing.
How you use it
Be respectful in anything you write or upload. Do not try to reach parts of the application or data you have not been given access to, interfere with how it runs, or collect its content automatically.
The content
Cases, Pearls, videos and other teaching material belong to the program and the people who wrote them. Use them within your program; ask before sharing them beyond it.
Availability
The application is provided as it is, for teaching and for the program’s community. It may change, and it may occasionally be unavailable. It is not a system of record, and nothing in it should be relied on as the only copy of something that matters.
Ending access
Your program can remove your access, for example when you leave the program or if these terms are not followed. You can stop using the application at any time and ask for your information to be removed, as the Privacy Policy describes.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date below changes with them and you are asked to agree again the next time you open the application. Until you do, you will not be able to continue into it.
